Murat Germen shares his photographs, accumulated for years through diarizing, which reflect nature's sublimity and freedom gorgeously in the exhibition entitled “Cloud” to open in Bozlu Art Project. The exhibition can be viewed in the Bozlu Art Project Nişantaşı between the dates of 13 March - 21 April 2018.

Murat Germen, states that he has collected cloud photography for years with the "waste not, want not" mindset. He adds; "Maybe I should have waited and revealed them after they reached a certain level of age... However; the excessive and aggressive reproduction of human-made “things”, the dominance of flat and stiff lines, imprisonment, the infertile bickering and ambitions in urban life prompted me to share these in a rather early period…” He underlines the fact that this exhibition titled “Cloud,” in addition to naturally referring to the skies, also focuses on the earth and the human intervention to nature, in a mystifying manner.

The works at the exhibition concentrate on the clouds, which probably render the most impressive and variable visuality of nature, witnessed by an experienced photographer during long years of travel in different geographies. Contrary to the photographs that display Germen's background in architecture and city planning, these works point to a different direction that the artist prefers to take and invite us to gaze at the sky, exactly when we need the most. While the clouds, which neither belong to nor bear upon humankind, create a distinct metaphysical effect; the artist emphasizes the nature's unique beauty and might through a purely documentary approach that paves the way to a common visual language found in black-and-white and color photographs of the series.

Germen summarizes the exhibition with his own words: “... clouds are one of the rare phenomena I get overwhelmed afore; there is not much left to take us away from the hastiness of life. The air, in the words of Nâzım Hikmet, is ‘heavy as lead!’ Things to rise decline, and the things to decline rise. The nature seems to be watching all this with dignity, in the lightness of a cloud yet in the power of a lightning."
