Born in Istanbul, Sara Baruh has been living in Geneva since 1980. Baruh’s connection with art began at a young age with ballet. Upon settling in Geneva, she developed an interest in painting and art history, subsequently she completed her art education in this city. Baruh seeks a unique synthesis of Turkish and European cultures in her works, and after figurative approaches she followed in her previous works she came about her current understanding of abstraction. “In my works, even though I may not always know the outcome, the process of creation is exciting and vivacious. Expressing things through art without questioning why I do, what I do, and what it means…” says Sara Baruh. She mostly uses materials such as ink, acrylic, and oil painting in her works. Having participated in numerous exhibitions and fairs in Türkiye and around the world, she continues her artistic production in Geneva.
